- Keywords – These are the phrases or words that you would like your website to show up for in Google.
- Competitiveness – The more competitive a keyword or keyphrase tends to be, will make it harder or easier for your site to get close to the top of the list.
- Audience – Who is coming to your site, what do they search for, and how do they search. These are important, wording your keyphrases to how your audience submits searches will increase your chances of reaching the top.
- Descriptions – This is normally what Google will add under the URL of your site. Think about what best describes your business or website. Add your main keyword or phrase to the description for a little extra boost.
Types of SEO
This is comprised of techniques that comply with Google’s terms of service.
This kind of SEO does take longer to see results, but is the only way you should be doing your optimization.
Google is always updating and refining their search, so make sure you are on their good side.
This is made up of tricks and scams to try and ‘beat’ Google.
Never go this route.
If someone offers your site to be on page one, first position in Google in under a month, they are almost always using a black hat technique.
Google will catch up with these tricks and will harshly penalize your website. Often with no chance of a positive return.
